You’ll also be working with an illustrator who understands the publishing process firsthand. Jemma is a published author and illustrator and has worked with self-published authors across fiction and non-fiction, for both children and adults. From preparing files for KDP and IngramSpark to developing book covers, interior illustrations and materials for publisher pitches, we bring practical industry knowledge as well as creativity to each project.

Yes, we regularly work with self-published authors and small publishers. Whether you have a finished manuscript or just an idea, we can guide you through the illustration process from concept to print-ready files.
Yes! All of our illustrations are hand-drawn on a tablet, which means each piece is created manually with care, not generated by AI or stock assets.
This allows for flexibility, precision, and easy delivery in digital formats.
While most of our work is digital, we also love working with traditional mediums like pencil or watercolour when requested!
This greatly depends on the size and complexity of the project. A full picture book typically takes around 4-6 months, while smaller projects like spot illustrations may take 1–3 weeks. We’ll provide a clear timeline before we begin.
Yes, we split payments into 2–3 milestones across the project timeline. For larger projects like children's books, we’re happy to discuss flexible options that work for both of us.
Once the final payment is made, you’ll receive a license to use the artwork based on your project’s scope (e.g. publishing, packaging, personal use). We’ll clarify what’s included in your agreement upfront.
If you need full commercial or extended usage rights, we can quote for that too.
We’re selective about the projects we take on so that we can give each one the time and attention it deserves. We only work with two illustration clients at a time, so we recommend reaching out early if you're planning something special.

While we don't handle publishing directly, we can guide you toward helpful resources and recommend trusted printers or platforms. We’ll also make sure your final files meet the technical requirements of whichever option you choose.
